Senior / Staff Full-Stack Engineer (.NET)

Build systems that help detect cancer earlier. Own architecture decisions that actually matter.

Location: Remote across Canada or United States (Eastern Time preferred) Type: Full-Time Team: Engineering

Why This Role Is Different

Most engineering roles talk about impact. This one is measurable.

Our client is building AI-powered MRI screening technology designed to detect cancer earlier, when treatment outcomes can dramatically improve. Their platform combines advanced imaging, machine learning, and clinical workflows to make high-quality screening faster, more accessible, and more actionable.

This is not an ad-tech optimization problem or another internal enterprise dashboard. Engineers here are building software that directly influences how people access potentially life-saving care.

The company was recently acquired by a major healthcare platform, giving the team both startup speed and meaningful scale. They are still small enough that every engineer shapes the product and architecture, but now have the backing, reach, and resources to move much faster.

The Role

You will join a small, highly capable engineering team working across healthcare infrastructure, AI-powered workflows, and patient-facing experiences. There is no ticket factory culture here. Engineers think deeply about systems design, product tradeoffs, and reliability, and have genuine influence over architecture from day one.

The team works across four focused areas: the core customer journey, platform and product integrations, operational tooling for healthcare partners, and AI-powered systems that translate complex medical reports into human-readable insights.

You will join the area where your background and interests create the most leverage, with input on where that is.

What We Are Looking For

Must Haves

  • Strong experience building production applications with any modern tech-stack (they use .NET, but also open to other tech stacks as long as you can learn)
  • Senior level: 8+ years of professional experience building production-ready applications
  • Staff level: 12+ years building and leading complex systems
  • Decent frontend skills with a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular, etc.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Technical bachelor's degree or higher (especially valued at Staff level)

Client's Tech Stack

  • Backend: .NET Core
  • Frontend: Vue
  • Cloud: Azure
  • Database: SQL

Compensation: There is meaningful flexibility for the right candidate.

Senior Engineer

  • Canada: $150,000 to $180,000 CAD
  • United States: $175,000 to $220,000 USD

Staff Engineer

  • Canada: $190,000 to $230,000 CAD

  • Stock options
  • Annual health screening in the USA, including MRI, CT scan, and bloodwork, with international access expanding in 2026

Growth

The engineering team is currently 13 people and is expected to more than double soon. For strong engineers, that means a real opportunity to shape culture, standards, and technical direction while the team is still small. Advancement is driven by you, and leadership actively supports people moving into new areas.

Interested?

If you want difficult technical problems, real ownership, and work that genuinely matters, we would love to connect.
